When Sam gets a message from his father, he journeys into videogame/virtual reality, where he meets two versions of his dad: a 40ish one who looks like he did when he left (this younger Bridges, representing the id, is accomplished through vaguely creepy special effects) and a 60ish good guy (played by a slightly aged Bridges and representing the ego).
